Cataract Surgery

A cataract is a clouding of the natural lens of the eye.  This process is most commonly caused by aging, but may also be seen with various medical conditions. People with cataracts may start to notice trouble with seeing clearly for activities of daily living. These activities include reading street signs, reading small print, and recognizing print on the television. Other patients will notice glare at night from approaching headlights.  When symptoms become bothersome it may be time for cataract surgery. Cataract surgery is used to restore and improve vision.  It is one of the safest most effective surgeries performed in the United States.
